The Secret – The Law Of Attraction

 

Over the years I heard a lot about ‘’The Secret’’. I was always curious about this theory but I never took the time to do the research, until last week. And I have to say, it really changed my mind! The Secret gives you everything you want: happiness, health and wealth. You can have, do or be anything you want. Do you want to be a millionaire? What kind of business do you wanna have? Do you want more success? What do you really want?

 

 

 

The Secret is The Law Of Attraction. It’s based on the belief that everything that is coming into your life, you are attracting into your life. And how do you attract those things into your life? Well, by the images you’re holding in your mind! It’s all about what you’re thinking. You literally become what you think about most and you also attract what you think about most. You draw everything into your own life: the people around you, your job, the house you live in, the car you drive… Your life is basically a manifestation of the thoughts into your head. In brief: Thoughts become things. And just to clear this up, The Secret is not about wishful thinking, it’s about a deeper understanding.

 

Maybe this sounds a bit woo-woo for you, but you have to understand that everything you have in your life is attracted, also the bad things. And the problem with ‘thoughts become things’? Well, most people think about what they don’t want instead of what they do want. And The Law Of Attraction doesn’t care whether you want something to happen or you don’t want something to happen. It’s always responding to your thoughts, the good and the bad. So what do we need to do? We need to focus on what we want, not on what we don’t want. Luckily a positive thought is more powerful than a negative thought. And there is a time delay in The Law Of Attraction, so all of your thoughts don’t come true instantly. This allows you to make a new choice every single moment.

 

To shift our negative thoughts into positive ones we need to monitor our thoughts. We have around 9000 thoughts a day, so that would be a hard job. Luckily there is an easier way: it’s with your feelings! There are good and bad feelings and we have to try to have more of the good feelings. A shift in emotions can literally change your whole day and life! If you wake up with a positive attitude and you don’t let any event ruin that state, you will stay in a positive mood throughout the day. Let’s say you bump your toe: you can let this ruin your emotions and feel annoyed for the rest of the day or you can shift your emotions into a positive state and decide to feel happy the rest of the day. The more you feel good the more things you’ll attract to feel good. And when you’re feeling down you can easily change it: put on some nice music, call a friend, think about a special one, anything that makes you happy!

 

 

 

When you start working with The Secret it is important to know that you don’t need to figure out how you’re gonna attract something into your life. ‘The Universe’ will figure out the how. 

Step 1: Ask
Start by making a command to the Universe. Let it know what it is you want. It will respond to your thoughts! Write down what you want on a piece of paper and write it in the present sense. Do this for every area in your life: your work, your relationships, your house, your health, everything. 

Step 2: Believe that it is already yours
This is a hard one, but you need to start believing that it’s already yours. Try to believe in the unseen! Visualize yourself riding that new car, or having that successful career. Maybe it will take some time, but know that it’s on its way to you!

Step 3: Receive
Feel the way you will feel when it will arrives. Go out and make a test drive in that car or go to the store and fit that dress you want so badly. Really try to feel how you would feel when it arrives. It’s important that you feel good so you’re in the right frequency.

 

 

 

Gratitude
Make a list with everything you’re grateful for. This helps to shift your way of thinking. Instead of focussing on problems, you’re focussing on all the good things in your life. Try to think about all the things you’re grateful for everyday.

Visualization
Visualization is a really powerful tool. When you visualize, always think about the end result and feel how you would feel when it is yours. Visualize yourself having the perfect partner, visualize yourself having your dream career. Feel it. You don’t have to figure out how, that’s the domain of the Universe. It always knows the best way! Making a vision board helps you to get into the state of already having it. Cut out and print out images from the things you want to attract into your life. Stick those images on a canvas and somewhere where you often see it. 

 

Maybe this whole Secret thing is a bit too spiritual and floaty for you. I get that! Not all the bad things happening in your life are a result of your negative thoughts. But when you look at your life in a different and positive light, you will also experience it in a different and positive light. When I feel sad or angry about a situation in my life, I now try to see the positive sides of it. So for example: I didn’t get the client I really wanted to work with. Instead of feeling down about it, I turned it into something positive, like: now I have more time left for a new client that betters fits me and my style. And literally within the next few days a new client contacts me. Have an open mind and try it for yourself.
